Season seven of Comedy Central’s Futurama premieres June 20

Missing the future? Well don’t worry because the 31st century zaniness continues as Matt Groening and David X. Cohen’s brilliantly subversive animated sci-fi comedy, “Futurama,” returns with 13 all-new half-hour episodes beginning on Wednesday, June 20 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. The all-comedy channel is kicking off the “Futurama” season in style with two new episodes airing back-to-back.

“Futurama” focuses on the life of Philip J. Fry (Billy West), a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999 and wakes up 1,000 years later with a fresh start at life at Planet Express, an intergalactic delivery company. There, he meets love interest Leela (Katey Sagal), a sexy cyclops with anger management issues, and best friend Bender (John DiMaggio), a beer-powered kleptomaniac robot. In 2011, the series earned two Emmysfor Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Voice-Over Performance by Maurice LaMarche.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart announces week-long coverage from The 2012 Democratic National Convention

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” is heading to Charlotte with 125+ stalwart staffers to cover its fourth Democratic National Convention and broadcast a week of shows. “The Daily Show’s” coverage of the 2012 DNC will be taped at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center™ and air nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT from Tuesday, September 4 through Friday, September 7.

“We are incredibly excited to spend a week in the beautiful city of Charlotte,” said Rory Albanese, Executive Producer, ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.’ “And to the good people of North Carolina, for their southern hospitality in hosting 125 smart-aleck New Yorkers, we offer in advance our thanks, but most of all, our apologies. Tosh.0 season premiere pulls in 3.1M total viewers; New series Key & Peele debuts to 2.1M total viewers.

No translators needed to understand these numbers. On the night he announced the Tosh Tour Twenty Twelve, Daniel Tosh returned to COMEDY CENTRAL for the 4th Season Premiere of “Tosh.0” and recorded the series’ biggest premiere among young men, dominating the night across all of television. Immediately following “Tosh,” new sketch series “Key & Peele” provided the all-comedy channel with its biggest series launch since 2009.

“Tosh.0” drew 3.1 million total viewers to its season premiere, along with a 2.3 adult 18-49 rating, 4.1 men 18-34 rating and a 4.6 men 18-24 rating. A huge hit with young men, “Tosh.0” was the #1 series in Prime on Tuesday night across all of television with men 18-34 and men 18-24, scoring the best rating among men 18-24 for any of the series’ season premieres.

Scoring COMEDY CENTRAL’s best launch since 2009, “Key & Peele” drew 2.1 million total viewers to its series premiere and also resonated among young men, earning a 2.6 men 18-34 rating and a 3.3 men 18-24 rating to finish as #1 in its timeslot with both demographics across all of television. For the night, the inaugural episode of the new hit series finished behind only “Tosh.0” in all of television for Tuesday Prime among men 18-24. In addition, #KeyAndPeele was the #1 trending topic on Twitter during its premiere play.

Tosh.0 season four premieres Tuesday, January 31 at 10PM

Daniel and the “Tosh.0” staff have been laboriously trawling the internet for months and are armed with a new arsenal of entertaining content to unleash on the fans. The highly-anticipated fourth season of “Tosh.0” debuts on Tuesday, January 31 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and is followed by the series premiere of “Key & Peele” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

In the premiere episode, Daniel puts an end to the speculation about his replacement as host in which he held an open casting call in Los Angeles during the season 3 finale episode. Also, the host will feature the most shocking wardrobe choice in “Tosh.0” history and reveal what he will be wearing all season long. Previously, Daniel has donned hoodies, cardigans, casual jackets, deep V’s, collared shirts, exposed arms and collegiate apparel.

Comedy Central sets 2012 midseason schedule

The weather may be getting chilly, but things are once again heating up at COMEDY CENTRAL! The network will premiere hot new series and specials as well as new seasons of network favorites throughout the cool months to come including: COMEDY CENTRAL’s “Indecision 2012” revs up with the return of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report” (January 3); the series premiere of the sketch comedy “Key & Peele” (January 31); brand-new seasons of network hits “Tosh.0” (season four premieres January 31) and “South Park” (season 16 premieres March 14); Russell Simmons and JB Smoove reunite for the stand-up series “Russell Simmons Presents The Ruckus” (January 26); Stand-Up Month returns in January and features stand-up premieres from Tom Papa, Kevin Hart, JB Smoove and John Mulaney, plus much more. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a new deal with COMEDY CENTRAL to extend cable’s longest-running animated series, “South Park,” it was announced […] by Michele Ganeless, president, COMEDY CENTRAL. The deal for three additional seasons ensures the top-rated Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning series will remain in original episodes through 2016 and a milestone 20th season. Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen draws record 6.4M viewers

Charlie Sheen and COMEDY CENTRAL shatter network records in viewership. The premiere of the “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Charlie Sheen” scored big with the viewers on-air and online. The Monday night premiere at 10:00 p.m pulled in 6.4 million total viewers, 8.7 rating M18-24, making this special the #1 highest-rated COMEDY CENTRAL Roast EVER and the most watched telecast in network history among P18- 49.

Comedy Central greenlights Daniel Tosh animated series Brickleberry

COMEDY CENTRAL has given a series order to “Brickleberry,” an animated series revolving around a group of dysfunctional forest rangers at a national park, that will be executive produced by Daniel Tosh (“Tosh.0“) along with comedians Waco O’Guin and Roger Black, who wrote and created the series, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production, COMEDY CENTRAL. The all-comedy network has placed a 10-episode order for the show with production slated to begin this fall for a premiere in early 2012.

Comedy Central cancels Sports Show with Norm Macdonald

Comedy Central has canceled Sports Show with Norm Macdonald and Onion SportsDome. Both shows premiered this year. ‘SportsDome’ is the second Onion-themed series to premiere this fall. Onion News Network airs on IFC and was already renewed for a second season.

Daniel Tosh will continue with deliciously twisted abandon to take on infinite offerings of the Internet as COMEDY CENTRAL orders a fourth season of the weekly hit series “Tosh.0,” it was announced today by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production COMEDY CENTRAL. The fourth season of “Tosh.0″ will consist of 26 episodes and premiere in January 2012.
