FX acquires new Charlie Sheen sitcom Anger Management

Former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen will return to television in summer 2012 on FX in Anger Management, a new sitcom loosely based on Revolution Studios’ 2003 hit comedy feature of the same name, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks.

FX has ordered 10 episodes of Anger Management from Lionsgate-owned distributor Debmar-Mercury, led by Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein. Production on the sitcom will begin in early 2012 with comedy veteran writer-producer Bruce Helford (George Lopez, The Drew Carey Show) as executive producer and showrunner. It will be produced by Lionsgate Television, led by Television Group President Kevin Beggs and COO Sandra Stern; Joe Roth and Revolution Studios’ Vince Totino; Sheen manager Mark Burg’s production company, Evolution Management; and Ramon Estevez and Estevez Sheen Productions.

Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen draws record 6.4M viewers

Charlie Sheen and COMEDY CENTRAL shatter network records in viewership. The premiere of the “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Charlie Sheen” scored big with the viewers on-air and online. The Monday night premiere at 10:00 p.m pulled in 6.4 million total viewers, 8.7 rating M18-24, making this special the #1 highest-rated COMEDY CENTRAL Roast EVER and the most watched telecast in network history among P18- 49.

The ninth season premiere of the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men, featuring the debut of Ashton Kutcher’s character following the highly publicized departure of Charlie Sheen from the series, drew an impressive 28.734M viewers and a 10.7 A18-49 rating last night.

COMEDY CENTRAL has secured one of Hollywood’s most notorious bad boys. The network announced today that Charlie Sheen will be the next Roastee. With Charlie Sheen no longer attached as its main star, Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre is said to be developing a Sheen-free version of the hit CBS comedy, THR reports. The reboot would center on an expanded role for co-star Jon Cryer along with the casting of a new character:

Spike TV will chronicle the ongoing Charlie Sheen saga with an animated half-hour special, “Charlie Sheen’s Winningest Moments” on Wednesday, March 9 at 10:30pm ET/PT. Using the latest animation from the Taiwanese production company, Next Media Animation, the special will be a countdown of 10 to 12 of Sheen’s most outlandish moments. The special will be hosted by two Taiwanese female characters, “The Goddesses.”

CBS and Warner Brothers TV shutdown production on Two and a Half Men

Charlie Sheen’s latest rant has not gone over well with the higher ups at CBS and Warner Brothers. The network and studio that produces the hit comedy Two and a Half Men has announced that production on the show will shut down effective immediately (four episodes remained to be produced).
