TNT Sets Cable Records With NBA Playoffs

The NBA playoffs are playing well on the court and off, as news comes in that TNT has set cable records for their first-round NBA Playoff contest Thursday. Nielsen estimates that the Chicago Bulls’ 128-127 triple overtime victory averaged 5.35 million viewers, easily cable’s top program for the night in most key categories.

The second press conference of President Barack Obama last night drew an audience of 40.35M viewers. The hour-long conference had a combined household rating of a 25.9 and was carried on 11 networks: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and mun2.

Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, featuring the highly anticipated interview with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, drew the show’s second largest audience of the year. President Obama’s address to congress last night drew a total audience of 52.37 million viewers on 10 networks (broadcast and cable).
