Jenna-Louise Coleman has beaten hundreds of hopefuls to become the new companion to Doctor Who, it was announced today by Steven Moffat.
Twenty-five year old Jenna from Blackpool, England will star alongside the 11th Time Lord, Matt Smith, to mark the biggest year in the show’s history.

The BBC has released the first official image from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas specia (click to enlarge):
The title for the episode, along with a special preview, will be unveiled tomorrow evening between 8:00-8:30p.m. (local time) during the annual “Children in Need” special on BBC.

Starz Entertainment has green-lit a new original adventure series titled “Da Vinci’s Demons,” developed and produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. This is the first project to enter production under the multi-year agreement Starz signed with BBC Worldwide Productions earlier this summer.

Starz has released the full-length trailer for the Torchwood: Miracle Day. Essentially the fourth season of the British series “Torchwood”, ‘Miracle Day’ is a joint venture between BBC and Starz. Watch the trailer after the jump.

The Doctor Who special “A Christmas Carol” drew an impressive 12.11M viewers on BBC on Christmas Day. That figure puts the show as the 3rd most-watched program on Christmas day. In series history, its the fourth highest rating since the series returned in 2005.
