Being Human renewed for a fifth season

BBC AMERICA announced today that award-winning and critically-acclaimed Supernatural Saturday series, Being Human, written and created by Toby Whithouse (Doctor Who, Torchwood), will return for a fifth season. The unconventional trio of a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost will live on as six more episodes have been commissioned for BBC AMERICA and BBC Three in the UK next year. Being Human is produced by Touchpaper Wales, a Zodiak Media Company, for BBC Cymru Wales and BBC AMERICA. The fourth season is currently premiering as part of the channel’s Supernatural Saturday programming block.

New companion unveiled for BBC America’s Doctor Who

Jenna-Louise Coleman has beaten hundreds of hopefuls to become the new companion to Doctor Who, it was announced today by Steven Moffat.

Twenty-five year old Jenna from Blackpool, England will star alongside the 11th Time Lord, Matt Smith, to mark the biggest year in the show’s history.

Filming underway on the new season of BBC America’s Doctor Who

Filming has started on the next season of BBC AMERICA’s highest rated series Doctor Who in Cardiff, Wales. This season will see the last days of the Ponds, with Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill returning for their final rollercoaster voyage with The Doctor (Matt Smith). Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) have been at the Doctor’s side for more than two seasons but what will he do after their heartbreaking departure?

BBC America to co-produce next installment of Luther; Four-part mini-series will premiere in 2012

Following Idris Elba’s best actor win at the 2012 Golden Globes®, BBC AMERICA has today confirmed it is to co-produce the next installment of the critically-acclaimed drama, Luther, starring Idris Elba. The four-part mini-series will premiere in 2012 as part of BBC AMERICA’s Dramaville.

Being Human returns Saturday, February 25 for season four on BBC America

BBC AMERICA’s original hit series, Being Human, returns February 25, as part of BBC AMERICA’s Supernatural Saturday. In its fourth chapter, the show is reinvigorated with new cast members, shocking plot-twists, guest appearances and an altogether new type of supernatural creature. In sharing his excitement about the new season, creator and writer Toby Whithouse (Doctor Who, Torchwood) promises: “We take you to somewhere we’ve never been to before.” Being Human premieres Saturday, February 25, 9:00pm ET/PT on Supernatural Saturday.

BBC announced during Comic-Con that Doctor Who will return to BBC America for the second half of the sixth season on August 27, 2011.

Doctor Who season six premiere is BBC America’s highest rated telecast ever; 1.27M viewers

The all new season of sci-fi hit Doctor Who, which premiered on Saturday, April 23, has given BBC AMERICA its highest-rated, most-watched telecast ever in Live + Same Day. Doctor Who delivered almost 1.3 million viewers*, a .72 coverage rating in P2+, and a .92 in A25-54. In total audience, the channel was up 71,000 viewers, from its previous best for last season’s opening episode of Doctor Who in April last year.

The U.S. broadcast premiere of the fifth season of Doctor Who, with new Doctor (Matt Smith) and companion (Karen Gillan) drew 1.2 million viewers Saturday night. That’s the highest rated telecast ever for BBC America.
