Fans of American Horror Story got a Halloween treat […] from FX as the network placed a second-season order of 13 episodes from Twentieth Century Fox Television, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks.

Week 2 of American Horror Story on FX drops 23% in viewers / 14% in demo from premiere

FX’s new drama American Horror Story drew 2.462M viewers in its second week. That was a drop of 23% from the week-ago premiere which drew 3.184M viewers.

Among the key A18-49 demographic, the series dipped 14% (from 2.035M  to 1.751M–from a 1.6 A18-49 rating to a 1.4 A18-49 rating).

FX’s American Horror Story starts strong with 3.2M viewers

American Horror Story, FX’s new original drama series, got off to a strong start on Wednesday with the premiere night delivering just over 5 million Total Viewers and 3.2 million Adults 18-49.

The premiere telecast of American Horror Story (10-11:10PM) posted 3.2 million Total Viewers and 2.0 million Adults 18-49, which was equal to the demo rating of the series debut of Nip/Tuck, and +33% higher than Sons Of Anarchy (1.5 million) the two most-watched series ever for FX. The first encore telecast of AHS (11:11PM-12:21AM) added 1.4 million Total Viewers and 906,000 Adults 18-49, and the second encore (1:22-2:22A) added 438,000 Total Viewers and 280,000 Adults 18-49.

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk Return to FX with drama series pilot American Horror Story

The pilot for American Horror Story is co-created by Murphy and Falchuk and it will be directed by Murphy with production beginning in April. Should FX order the pilot to series, production would begin in late spring and debut this fall. American Horror Story is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. In addition to Murphy and Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto will also serve as Executive Producer of American Horror Story.
