Noam Murro will direct 300: Battle of Artemisia

Warner Brothers offers Guy Ritchie 300 follow-up Xerxes

Vulture is reporting that Warner Brothers has offered Guy Ritchie (“Sherlock Holmes”) Xerxes, the follow-up to “300”. Like its predecessor, Xerxes is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel of the same name.

Vulture speculates that this means one of two things for Snyder, who directed the 2007 hit and had written the script for Xerxes:

Zack Snyder Talks 300 Follow-Up

300-040609In an interview with MTV, Watchmen director Zack Snyder revealed the setting for the planned follow-up to the hit 2007 film 300.  Here’s a bit of what Snyder told MTV News:

“There’s something that happens in history between Leonidas dying at the Hot Gates and Platea,” Snyder said. “That’s a year that’s left out of the [original] movie. A lot happened.”

“Frank is definitely working on an idea,” Snyder explained. “If Frank comes up with a great idea and draws something cool, there’s no reason why we wouldn’t make another movie.”
