MTV Ratings: 2011 Movie Awards, Teen Wolf premiere and America’s Best Dance Crew finale

MTV had a stellar night, with the “2011 MTV Movie Awards” delivering a 3.9 rating among P12-34, averaging 4.5 million viewers, and its largest audience among teens since 2004 – a 5.4 rating overall, and whopping 8.3 rating among female teens. Part one of the two-part “Teen Wolf” series premiere, on a special night and time, delivered a 2.1 rating among P12-34, and scored huge with the teen audience, retaining 68% of its lead-in, with a 3.7 rating overall, and 5.6 with female teens, up a stellar 105% from last year’s post show. The special 90 minute season finale of “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” (“ABDC”), which included live coverage from the “Movie Awards” red carpet, kicked off the night with a 2.1 rating among P12-34, up 38% from last year’s Movie Award’s lead-in.

2011 MTV Movie Awards winners

MTV’s 2011 “Movie Awards” kept its tradition as Hollywood’s most atypical and irreverent awards show with surprise appearances, raunchy roasts, exclusive sneak peeks and even a few #laserboners. The LIVE telecast got off to a hilarious and celeb-studded start with host Jason Sudeikis spoofing “The Hangover Part II” as he gets drunk with Justin Bartha, loses Taylor Lautner, wakes up to a tattooed Eva Mendes sleeping in a bathtub and receives some tough love from the straight-shooting Chelsea Handler. Sudeikis then launches a no-holds-barred monologue in which no one and nothing is off limits – even himself — riffing on everything from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Justin Bieber to rumors the SNL star may soon be a “baby daddy.”

Jason Sudeikis to host 2011 MTV Movie Awards

The trademark comedic shenanigans of Saturday night are moving to Sunday, June 5! MTV today announced thatJason Sudeikis – leading comedic actor and “Saturday Night Live” regular – will host the “2011 MTV Movie Awards” LIVE on Sunday, June 5, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. This year’s 20th annual ceremony will mark Sudeikis’ first time hosting the awards show as he infuses this year’s telecast with his quick comedic wit and improvisational skills. As previously announced, Emmy Award® winning producer Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Apprentice”) returns to executive produce this year’s awards that will give out the legendary golden popcorn statue in outlandish categories such as “Best Scared As-Sh**t Performance,” “Best Jaw-Dropping Moment” and “Best Line From a Movie.” The show will air LIVE on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
