Dredd: First poster + Two new images

The first poster and two new photos from Pete Travis’ Dredd have been released online courtesy JoBlo. Click over the jump to see the poster and photos in full and high resolution.

Dredd is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on September 21, 2012. Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey star.

First Look: Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim and Pinocchio

The first photos from two of Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming projects: Pacific Rim and the stop-motion 3D Pinocchio; have come online. Check them out after the jump. The photo from Pacific Rim features Idris Elba and is included above. Click over the jump to check out the Pinocchio photos.

Pacific Rim is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on July 12, 2013. Pinnochio has no release date, but Del Toro recently stated that it should be ready for release by 2014.

Universal Pictures moving forward with Snow White and the Huntsman sequel

Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures is moving forward with development on a sequel to Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman. Sanders is not a lock to return — ‘Huntsman’ was his feature debut — but the studio is pursuing him for the sequel.

Snow White and the Huntsman is in theaters now and stars Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. The film opened to an impressive $56.2M last weekend and has already grossed $75.5M ahead of its second weekend (and $122.1M worldwide).

Warner Brothers Television Group announces Comic-Con 2012 panels

Samuel L. Jackson joins the cast of Robocop

Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast of MGM and Sony’s remake of the classic 1987 Paul Verhoeven sci-fi movie Robocop. According to Heat Vision | THR, Jackson will play Pat Novak, “a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the Robocop world.”

Robocop stars Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy/Robocop and Gary Oldman as the character’s creator. Directed by Jose Padilha, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 9, 2013.

Investigation Discovery renews On the Case With Paula Zahn for a seventh season

ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN has been a cornerstone of Investigation Discovery’s schedule at 10 PM on Sunday nights since the series’ launch in October 2009. And this past Sunday, June 3, ON THE CASE launched its sixth season with a 1.01 Household rating, which is the fourth time the series has broken the 1.0 benchmark in primetime. The season premiere delivered 947k People 2+, which represents the second highest primetime audience in the series’ history. In this episode, “Mystery in the Desert,” Zahn explored an investigation that spanned five decades and the clemency requests of William Macumber, who claims he was framed for the double-murder by his ex-wife.

Syfy renews Lost Girl for a third season

Syfy has renewed its hit series Lost Girl – the #1 cable drama among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in its time period – for a third season of 13 episodes, beginning January 2013.

During season two to-date, Lost Girl is averaging 895,000 Adults 18-49, 930,000 Adults 25-54 and 1.64 million total viewers, based on available Live +7 data.

On July 20, Lost Girl will move from Mondays at 10PM (ET/PT) to Fridays at 10PM.

Game of Thrones season two finale draws series high 4.2 million viewers

The season two finale of Game of Thrones Sunday night drew a series high 4.2 million viewers. That was an increase from the previous series-high of 3.9 million viewers (from the season two premiere). The finale was up more than 1 million viewers, or 40%, over the season one finale (3.0M viewers).

A 11pm repeat added 910,000 viewers for a total of 5.1 million viewers on the night.

A&E’s Longmire debuts as the network’s #1 original series premiere of all time with 4.1 million total viewers

A&E’s new scripted drama series “Longmire” set ratings records for the network with the series premiere on Sunday, June 3 at 10:00PM ET/PT, becoming the network’s most watched original series launch of all time with 4.1 million total viewers. “Longmire” launched as cable’s top new scripted drama of 2012 among total viewers and adults 25-54 with 1.4 million in the demo tuning in.
