Michael Giacchino will score Disney’s John Carter of Mars

MovieScore Magazine has confirmed with Disney-Pixar that Michael Giacchino (“Up”, “Star Trek”) will write the score for Andrew Stanton’s (“WALL•E”) upcoming live-action/animated adaptation John Carter of Mars.  Giacchino has had a long-running relationship with Pixar, and just last weekend won an Academy Award for his score to Up.

Release Schedule: Wall Street 2 pushed to September; Chipmunks 3D set for December 2012; Buried releasing this September + more

A couple release date changes/additions to catch up on including Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (delayed), Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D (set for December 2011), Buried (set for this September) 21 Jump Street (delayed) and Smurfs (pushed back five days into August 2011).
