USA Network has given a greenlight to a new hourlong series called White Collar. The show, starring Mathrew Bomer, Tim DeKay, Tiffani Thiessen and Willie Garson will launch with a 90-minute pilot and will be followed by 13 episodes.

The USA Network has canceled the Debra Messing-starring drama series The Starter Wife. The show premiered last fall after a successful six-hour miniseries in 2007. The 10-episode first season had a lower than expected audience, drawing an average of just 2.4 million (low for a network whose top shows regularly pull in 4-6 million viewers).

Debra Messing, who starred in last year’s successful mini-series The Starter Wife, is being joined this season by more cast members: David Alan Bashe (Lipstick Jungle), Danielle Nicolet (Heartland), Brielle Barbusca (Hope & Faith) and Hart Bochner (Die Hard). The USA series returns this October with 10 new episodes.

USA Network has ordered an eighth season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent picking up the show for an additional 16 episodes. This will be the second season the show is on USA Network after running for six seasons on NBC.

USA Network on Wednesday announced that they’ve renewed Monk, the award-winning original series, starring Tony Shalhoub. The order is for 16 episodes.

USA Network’s Nashville Star is moving to NBC. The network has announced that they’ve picked up the show for a sixth season, and will launch it in the summer alongside the second season premiere of American Gladiators.

In a message to fans of The 4400, series creator/executive producer, Scott Peter has announced that USA Network has canceled the long-running original series. Also, it’s being reported that The Dead Zone has been canceled by USA as well.

USA Network has re-upped their current contract with WWE for two more years (through 2010) and the weekly wrestling program WWE Monday Night RAW will remain on USA Network.
