20th Century Fox shifts Titantic 3D to April 4

20th Century Fox has pushed up the release of James Cameron’s Titanic 3D from April 6 to Wednesday, April 4 giving the 3D re-issue a head start on the Easter box office weekend.

The film will now open ahead of the comedy “American Reunion” and action-thriller “The Cold Light of Day”.

Summit Entertainment has announced that Rob Cohen’s Alex Cross, formerly titled “I, Alex Cross”, will be released on October 26, 2012. The film stars Tyler Perry, Matthew Fox, Rachel Nichols, Edward Burns and Jean Reno and is based on the best-selling novels by author James Patterson.

Red Dawn set for November 2, 2012 + Singularity delayed to

FilmDistrict has set a November 2, 2012 release date for Red Dawn.

The film will go up against Paramount’s Seth Rogen / Barbra Streisand comedy “My Mother’s Curse” and Disney’s “Wreck-it Ralph”.

In other release date news, Sony has pushed back Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi Singularity six months from May 17 to November 1, 2013.

Underworld Awakening to be released in IMAX 3D on January 20, 2012

IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) (TSX:IMX) and Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Underworld Awakening, the fourth installment in the popular supernatural-action franchise produced by Lakeshore Entertainment along with creator Len Wiseman, will be released to IMAX(R) digital theatres simultaneously with the film’s worldwide release Jan. 20, 2012. The latest chapter in the Underworld saga marks the return of Kate Beckinsale in the title role of Selene and is the first of the series to be filmed in 3D and released in IMAX.
