Men in Black 3 theme song from Pitbull, “Back in Time”, released

Sony Pictures has released “Back in Time”, the new Pitbull single that will be the theme song for the studio’s upcoming sequel Men in Black 3. You can listen to the single, which features a sample of the 1950s hit “Love is Strange”, after the jump. “Back in Time” was written for the film by Armando C. Perez (Pitbull), Marc Kinchen, Adrian Trejo and Urales Vargas.

Men in Black 3 is scheduled to hit conventional, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 25, 2012.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards delivers largest audience since 1984 with 39.9M total viewers

Last night’s broadcast of the 54TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS® delivered more than 39.9 million viewers, the largest Grammy audience since 1984 and the second-largest in history, according to Nielsen updated live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Feb. 12.

From 8:00-11:33PM, THE GRAMMY AWARDS® (S) posted a 21.7/33 with 39.91m viewers, 16.0/33 in adults 25-54, 14.1/32 in adults 18-49 and 12.1/31 in adults 18-34.

2011 MTV Video Music Awards averages record-breaking 12.4M viewers

Last night’s 2011 MTV Video Music Awards averaged a record-breaking 12.4M viewers. That was an increase of 1 million, or 9%, over last year’s telecast (11.4M). The telecast also ranks as the most-watched program ever on MTV.

2011 MTV Video Music Awards winners

The ladies ruled the kingdom at the “2011 MTV Video Music Awards,” broadcast live this evening from Nokia Theater L.A. Live, as Katy Perry and Adele each took home three VMA Moonmen and Lady Gaga two. Katy Perry won the biggest prize of the night, “Video of the Year,” with her pop anthem, “Fireworks,” as well as honors for “Best Collaboration” and “Best Special Effects” for “E.T.” featuring Kanye West. Adding to her reign atop the album charts, Adele won VMAs for “Best Art Direction,” “Best Cinematography,” and “Best Editing.” Genre and gender-defying Lady Gaga kicked off the night as her alter ego Joe Calderone with a show-stopping performance of “You and I,” and later walked away with two VMAs for “Best Female” and this year’s new category, “Best Video with a Message.”

MTV announces 2011 MTV Video Music Awards nominees

The annual battle for music video supremacy is on for this year’s hottest pop, rock and hip-hop artists at the upcoming “2011 MTV Video Music Awards” on Sunday, August 28 at 9PM (ET/PT). MTV today announced the nominees for this year’s fourteen VMA categories. Katy Perry leads the way with an incredible nine VMA nominations which include “Video of the Year” and “Best Female Video,” for her explosive hit, “Firework,” “Best Pop Video” for Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), and “Best Special Effects” for her futuristic chart-topping hit and this year’s current top selling digital song in the U.S., “E.T.” featuring Kanye West.

The Recording Academy and CBS announces new 10-year agreement for The Grammy Awards

The Recording Academy® (www.grammy.com) and CBS (www.cbs.com) announced today a new 10-year deal that will keep Music’s Biggest Night®, the annual GRAMMY Awards® broadcast, on CBS through 2021. The new agreement further extends one of the longest broadcast partnerships in television history. CBS has been the broadcast home of the GRAMMY Awards since 1973. ”The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards” will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles from 8:00-11:30 PM, ET/PT.

2010 MTV Video Music Awards averages 11.4M viewers; Most-watched MTV program since 2002

The 2010 VMAs averaged a 10.0 P12-34 rating and 11.40 million total viewers, marking the network’s best deliveries for any MTV telecast since the 2002 VMAs (8/29/02).

With P12-34, the 2010 VMAs are MTV’s fifth highest rated telecast in the network’s history. Averaging 7.9 million P12-34 viewers, the telecast ties as MTV’s most watched in the demo ever.

Among total viewers, the 2010 VMAs averaged an audience of 11.4 million, making it the third most watched telecast in MTV’s history.

First look at two villains + First song performed from Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark

Here’s your first look at costumes for two villains — Green Goblin and the new villain created for the musical, Swiss Miss — along with a performance of the song “Boy Falls from the Sky” from the Julie Taymor-directed musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

The film’s score, including this song which was performed by Spider-Man/Peter Parking actor Reeve Carney, was written by U2.

Click over the jump to watch the video performance of “Boy Falls from the Sky”. Preview performances of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark begin on November 14, 2010, with the show making its official debut in December.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane announces he’s making a big band album

Last night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane revealed that he signed a deal with Universal Republic Records to record a big band album:

“I’m working on an album actually for Universal Republic Records,” said MacFarlane. “I had an offer to do an actual big band album and I took it. I said yes.”

When Leno asked what fans could expect, MacFarlane teased: “Swing arrangements of classic tunes. We kind of deliberately touched stuff that the Deans (Martin) and the Franks (Sinatra) and the Sammys (Davis Jr.) didn’t do yet.”
