Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment have released an updated synopsis for Kenneth Branagh’s Thor.
Synopsis
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

It may not be in 3D, but fans will still be in for a treat when Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2 hits IMAX theaters simultaneously with its May 7, 2010 conventional theater release:
“The success of the first ‘Iron Man’ movie catapulted the franchise from the comic books to theatre screens, and we’re excited that the IMAX format will offer fans an even more immersive way to experience the sequel,” said Tim Connors, Chief Operating Officer, Marvel Studios.

Paramount Pictures has released the first movie trailer for the upcoming sequel Iron Man 2. The trailer features glimpses of several of the new characters, including Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and Don Cheadle (who replaced Terence Howard) as War Machine. Head on over the jump to watch the trailer.
