Last night’s highly anticipated Olympic Hockey match-up between Canada and USA — which ended in USA’s 5-3 upset over Canada — drew an average 8.22 million viewers on MSNBC. Bad news for Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica. Week three of the series drew just 1.13 million viewers and a 0.4 A18-49 rating. That was down a steep 20% from last week’s episode (1.41M viewers and a 0.5 A18-49 rating). Caprica is down 29% from its series premiere (1.60 million viewers).

TLC’s telecast of the Miss America 2010 beauty pageant on Saturday night drew 4.5 million viewers, an improvement of 1 million viewers or 29% over last year’s telecast and a record showing for the beauty pageant on cable.

The two-hour Hope for Haiti Now telethon on Friday night averaged 24.11 million viewers for its two hours with 83 million viewers tuning in (6-minute average) at some point during the telecast. The telethon raised more than $61 million. Head on over the jump to read the press release.
