TNT’s Falling Skies launches second season with 4.5 million viewers

TNT‘s epic drama series Falling Skies, basic cable’s #1 new series last year, launched its second season Sunday night with strong numbers. The two-hour season premiere drew a total of 4,461,000 viewers in Live + Same Day delivery. Falling Skies, which comes to TNT from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg and stars Noah Wyle, helped TNT rank as basic cable’s #1 network for the night with a 2.3 household rating according to early metered-market data.

TNT’s Dallas rides tall with 6.9 million viewers

[Sunday] night’s eagerly anticipated premiere of TNT’s Dallas struck it rich with 6,863,000 viewers, to rank as the #1 scripted series premiere on all of cable for the year-to-date. This marks the third consecutive summer TNT has scored a chart-topping series launch, following Rizzoli & Isles in 2010 and Falling Skies in 2011.

ESPN has highest-rated, most-viewed NBA Playoffs ever

The 2012 NBA Playoffs generated record ratings and viewership on ESPN, led by the Eastern Conference Finals, which delivered the network’s highest-rated, most-viewed NBA series ever, according to Nielsen. It averaged a 6.2 US household rating, matching the highest-rated Conference Finals ever on cable, and was up 44 percent compared to ESPN’s coverage of the 2011 Western Conference Finals (4.3). The series averaged 10,144,000 viewers (P2+), up 46 percent from 2011 (6,939,000) and up 43 percent in household impressions from 2011 (4,987,000).

Season five of Mad Men is the most watched season to date; 2.7M watch season finale making it most watched season finale in series history

Last night, AMC concluded season five of “Mad Men,” which resulted in the most watched season to date with an average of 2.6 million viewers increasing 15% over last season’s average. Last night’s finale marks the highest finale in the series history with a 2.0 HH rating and 2.7 million viewers. Among the core demo of Adults 25-54, “Mad Men” delivered 1.4 million viewers marking an increase of +13% versus the season four finale. “Mad Men” is a top 3 original drama series each week among Adults 25-54 on basic cable.

Game of Thrones season two finale draws series high 4.2 million viewers

The season two finale of Game of Thrones Sunday night drew a series high 4.2 million viewers. That was an increase from the previous series-high of 3.9 million viewers (from the season two premiere). The finale was up more than 1 million viewers, or 40%, over the season one finale (3.0M viewers).

A&E’s Longmire debuts as the network’s #1 original series premiere of all time with 4.1 million total viewers

A&E’s new scripted drama series “Longmire” set ratings records for the network with the series premiere on Sunday, June 3 at 10:00PM ET/PT, becoming the network’s most watched original series launch of all time with 4.1 million total viewers. “Longmire” launched as cable’s top new scripted drama of 2012 among total viewers and adults 25-54 with 1.4 million in the demo tuning in.

Eastern Conference Finals Game 4 on ESPN delivers highest overnight rating for NBA Playoff game ever on Cable

Sunday night’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 4 on ESPN – in which Boston defeated Miami in overtime to even their series 2-2 – delivered a 7.9 overnight rating, the highest ever for an NBA playoff game on cable (records back to 2003), according to Nielsen. The game peaked with a 10.7 rating during overtime.

History’s Hatfields & McCoys continues blockbusters ratings with 13.1M viewers for night two

Night two of HISTORY’s HATFIELDS & MCCOYS garnered 13.1 million total viewers on Tuesday, May 30 from 9-11:05 p.m. The hit, scripted three-night event, whose finale is tonight at 9pm ET/8c, continued its ratings dominance with 4.7 million Adults 18-49, 5.8 million Adults 25-54, 2.5 million Males 18-49 and 3.2 million Males 25-54.

Among total viewers, Part 1 & Part 2 now rank as the #1 and #2 entertainment telecasts of all time in ad-supported cable. In Adults 25-54 and Men 25-54, part 2 retained 100% delivery from night one.

The debut of the HISTORY’s HATFIELDS & MCCOYS, which premiered on Memorial Day and continues tonight and Wednesday (9-11pm ET/10c) becomes the #1 non-sports telecast in ad supported cable television history, with over 13.9 million total viewers, 5.8 million adults 25-54 and 4.8 million Adults 18-49 (based on Nielsen’s fast cable ratings). Over 17 million people watched both the premiere and encore telecast last night.

TBS’s new original sitcom Men At Work debuts to more than 2.6M viewers

TBS’s all-new comedy series Men At Work scored 2,649,000 viewers; 1,630,000 adults 18-49; and 851,000 adults 18-34 in its debut last night, according to cable fast national data. The premiere of Men At Work also drew 14% more adults 18-34 and 7% more adults 18-49 than the prior four weeks of The Big Bang Theory in the Thursday 10 p.m. (ET/PT) timeslot. And it garnered more men 18-34 (395,000) than any previous TBS original sitcom premiere.

Season finale of A&E’s Duck Dynasty draws series-high 2.6M total viewers

[Wednesday] night’s season finale of A&E’s newest hit series “Duck Dynasty” drew record ratings for the series with back-to-back episodes at 10PM and 10:30PM ET/PT.
