Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark opening night rescheduled for Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris, lead producers of the troubled musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark have announced that the production has rescheduled its opening night for Tuesday, June 14, 2011.

Additionally, performances from Tuesday, April 19 to Wednesday May 11 will be canceled to make time for the new changes set to be implemented. Preview performances will resume on Thursday, May 12.

First look at two villains + First song performed from Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark

Here’s your first look at costumes for two villains — Green Goblin and the new villain created for the musical, Swiss Miss — along with a performance of the song “Boy Falls from the Sky” from the Julie Taymor-directed musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

The film’s score, including this song which was performed by Spider-Man/Peter Parking actor Reeve Carney, was written by U2.

Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark musical dated for this year

The oft-delayed Spider-Man musical ‘Turn Off the Dark’ has been slated for previews beginning November 14 at the Foxwoods Theaters with a December 21, 2010 opening date. Costs of the project have reportedly already exceeded $50 million.

It appears NBC wasn’t the only one benefiting from the premiere of Grease: You’re the One That I Want” this past Sunday.
