NBC Picks up Community, Parks and Recreation and Mercy to Full Seasons

NBC has announced that the Wednesday-night medical drama Mercy and Thursday-night comedies Community and Parks and Recreation have all received back-nine orders, bringing their season episode totals to 22 each.

Fox Reduces Past Life Episode Order

FlashForward Gets Full Season Pick-up by ABC

flashforward-101309Last Thursday, TV Guide reported that ABC had given full season pick-ups to three of their Wednesday night comedies; The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town (see related story).  The network has now officially announced those pick-ups, as well as announcing that their Thursday night drama FlashFoward has also been picked up for a full season.

The Middle airs Wednesday night’s at 8:30 p.m., followed by The Modern Family at 9:00 p.m. and Cougar Town at 9:30 p.m.  FlashForward airs Thursday night’s at 8:00 p.m.

Dollhouse Season Two Premieres Friday, September 26th

Fox Unveils Fall 2009 Premiere Schedule

FOX has announced the premiere dates for its fall 2009 schedule. The network’s season gets underway Saturday, September 12th with new seasons of CopsAmerica’s Most Wanted and , culminating with the series premiere of The Wanda Sykes Show (still working title) on Saturday, November 7th.

In between, the network will premiere three new series this fall: Glee (Wednesday, September 16th at 9:00pm), Brothers (Friday, September 18th at 8:00pm) and The Cleveland Show (Sunday, September 27th at 8:30pm).  Head on over the jump to check out the complete fall 2009 premiere schedule. NBC Renews Law & Order For Record Tying 20th Season

NBC renewed Dick Wolf’s veteran crime drama Law & Order for a 20th season, matching Gunsmoke’s record 20-year run (albeit Gunsmoke aired considerably more episodes). The order is expected to be for 16 episodes.

Mad Men Debut Set For August

Fans of Mad Men will have to wait just slightly longer than usual for the show’s premiere this summer.  AMC has set an August start for the show’s third season., although an exact date for the premiere has not yet been decided upon.

Previous seasons of the award-winning series began in mid-July.

Fox Renews Fringe For Second Season

fringeleonardnimoy-050409Fox has renewed Fringe, the no. 1 new series among adults 18-49, for a full second season. The announcement was made today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.  The full press release follows after the jump, but here’s a highlight:

“FRINGE proved to be a notable addition to our schedule all season and it really has fans buzzing as it builds to a fantastic season finale,” said Reilly. “J.J. and the whole Bad Robot team have been phenomenal partners, and we look forward to years of making great television with them.”

“FRINGE continues to gain momentum, creatively and with viewers,” said J.J. Abrams, series co-creator and executive producer. “We couldn’t be more thrilled that FRINGE will continue to freak people out for at least another season!”
