Universal Pictures’ Snow White and the Huntsman opened to a better than expected first place $20.3M from 3,773 theaters on Friday en route to what should be an impressive $55-60M opening weekend. ‘Huntsman’ easily held off last week’s number 1 MIB 3 which fell to second place with an estimated $8.3M from 4,248 theaters ($91.304M cume). MIB 3 will should close its second weekend in the neighborhood of $25-30M.

The Avengers  also moved up to #3 on the all time worldwide chart — $1.331B — passing up “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” ($1.328B).
