HBO announces Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins

HBO Sports, NFL Films and the Miami Dolphins team up for an all-access look at what it takes to make it in the National Football League when HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE MIAMI DOLPHINS debuts in August. The first sports-based reality series – and one of the fastest-turnaround reality series – kicks off its five-episode seventh season, presented in HD, TUESDAY, AUG. 7 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Other hour-long episodes debut subsequent Tuesdays at the same time, with an encore play every Wednesday in August at 11:00 p.m., culminating in the Sept. 4 season finale.

Anthony Bourdain joins CNN/CNNI to host new weekend program in early 2013

World-renowned chef, bestselling author and Emmy winning television personality Anthony Bourdain will join CNN as host of a new weekend program, creating a signature showcase for the network’s coverage of food and travel. The announcement was made by CNN Worldwide Executive Vice President and Managing Editor, Mark Whitaker.

“For more than a decade, Anthony Bourdain has been a trailblazer in educating Americans about different cuisines and cultures around the world, as well as an outspoken commentator on social trends ranging from the rise of celebrity chefs to the impact of fast food chains to the spread of vegetarianism and veganism.” said Whitaker. “Examining the world through the prism of Tony’s unique expertise and passions continues CNN’s long-standing commitment to international reporting and to promoting global understanding.”

Django Unchained is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2012 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.

Continuum premieres to first-place 900,000 viewers on Showcase

The numbers are in and the future looks bright for Continuum. The wildly anticipated debut of the Showcase original series smashed the competition, reaching 1.7 million* Canadians throughout its two airings on Sunday night. The premiere episode garnered a viewership** of 900,000 (2+) and 427,000 (A25-54) in its 9 pm timeslot, becoming the highest single episode ever on Showcase.

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for Timur Bekmambetov’s big-screen adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on June 22, 2012. Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Rufus Sewell, Alan Tudyk and Mary Elizabeth Winstead star in the film.

No more Jesse Stone movies at CBS

Variety is reporting that the eighth ‘Jesse Stone’ movie, Benefit of the Doubt, will be the final movie produced for CBS. The latest movie in the movie franchise which stars Tom Selleck, was well-rated with nearly 13 million total viewers — 12.93M —  but the audience skewed old with just a 1.2/3 A18-49 rating/share.

UEFA Champions League Final on FOX Sports is second most-watched ever with 2M viewers

Chelsea had been out-played for most of the match, but only trailed Bayern Munich 1-0 in the 2012 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL until lightning struck in the 88th minute and Didier Drogba tied the score with a header off a corner kick. Thirty minutes of scoreless, dramatic extra-time ensued forcing the most prestigious title in European club soccer to be settled by penalty kicks. Again, it was Drogba who connected on the game’s final shot giving Chelsea the 4-3 victory and the European crown.

TBS’s new original sitcom Men At Work debuts to more than 2.6M viewers

TBS’s all-new comedy series Men At Work scored 2,649,000 viewers; 1,630,000 adults 18-49; and 851,000 adults 18-34 in its debut last night, according to cable fast national data. The premiere of Men At Work also drew 14% more adults 18-34 and 7% more adults 18-49 than the prior four weeks of The Big Bang Theory in the Thursday 10 p.m. (ET/PT) timeslot. And it garnered more men 18-34 (395,000) than any previous TBS original sitcom premiere.

Season finale of A&E’s Duck Dynasty draws series-high 2.6M total viewers

[Wednesday] night’s season finale of A&E’s newest hit series “Duck Dynasty” drew record ratings for the series with back-to-back episodes at 10PM and 10:30PM ET/PT. The 10:30PM episode of “Duck Dynasty” hit a series high of 2.6 million total viewers and 1.5 million in both adults 25-54 and 18-49 demos.

Sean Hannity signs multi-year deal with FOX News

FOX News has signed Sean Hannity to a new multi-year deal where he will continue as the host of Hannity and extend his tenure at the network past the 20-year mark, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the network.

In making the announcement, Ailes said, “Hannity’s years of experience and thought-provoking commentary will continue to engage and excite loyal viewers. He is a remarkable asset to the network and we are happy that he’ll remain in his current role.”
