Paramount Pictures has announced a delay for the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The film was scheduled to hit theaters this June 29, but the studio announced that they will delay the sequel nine months to March 29, 2013. One of the reasons for the surprising move was to allow for a full 3D conversion:
Hasbro’s President and CEO: “It is increasingly evident that 3D resonates with movie-goers globally and together with Paramount, we made the decision to bring fans an even more immersive entertainment experience.”
Directed by Jon M. Chu, G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki and Ray Park.
