There were reportedly “serious discussions” between the parties, but multiple sources are now reporting that Netflix has opted not to pick up the canceled Fox drama series Terra Nova:
After two weeks of negotiations, Netflix and Terra Nova producer 20th Century Fox TV could not come to terms on a deal to continue the series on the video streaming service. While 20th TV is not throwing in the towel quite yet as it is not releasing the actors, there is no other viable suitor at this time and the chances of keeping the show alive following Fox’s cancellation earlier this month appear minimal.
Insiders confirmed that 20th TV is ready to call it a wrap for “Terra Nova,” which launched with major fanfare last fall. The series had a strong pedigree, with Peter Chernin and Steven Spielberg among its exec producers, but never had enough traction with viewers to secure a renewal for Fox, given its high pricetag.
