Late last year The Weinstein Company / Dimension Films pushed Piranha 3DD out of its November 2011 release date and set it for a TBD 2012 release. Shock Till You Drop is now reporting that Dimension has set the film for release on June 1, 2012. The John Gulager-directed 3D sequel will go up against Universal Pictures’ “Snow White and the Huntsman”.
Piranha 3DD is a sequel to Alexandre Aja’s “Piranha 3D” which grossed $83.2M worldwide ($25.0M domestic / $58.2M foreign) on a budget of just $24M back in 2010. If you missed it, Dimension released a new trailer for Piranha 3DD last week. Check it out after the jump.
