ESPN pulls Hank Williams Jr.’s “Are You Ready for Some Football” open from tonight’s telecast of Monday Night Football

Hank Williams Jr. went on Fox News’ Fox and Friends this morning and compared President Obama to Adolph Hitler. As a result of his comments, ESPN has pulled Williams’ “Are You Ready for some Football” opening on Monday Night Football. The network issued the following statement:

“While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”

  • Anytime you use the name Hitler when commenting about someone’s behavior you are likely to find yourself in trouble. Come on! Obama wants national health care and higher taxes on the rich. Hitler wanted to kill every living Jew. Not a very good comparison!

But hey, what do you expect. You put a liberal hater on Fox News and this is what comes out of their mouth. It’s just one never-ending hate those you disagree with party.

In fairness to Hank, I’m sure that he was just trying to emphasize how bad a President he feels Obama is and doesn’t really think he’s comparable to Hitler. Hopefully this will convince a few right-wingers that it’s possible to disagree with someone politically without resorting to hate mongering.
