Kurt Johnstad has been hired to re-write the Zack Snyder-directed / Christopher Nolan-produced Superman project Man of Steel, Moviehole reports. The project was scripted by David Goyer, but because of his involvement in Godzilla, Warner Brothers and Snyder had to find someone else. Which brings us to Snyder’s long-time colloborator Johnstad:
Now that Goyer’s is off The Man of Steel and on to Godzilla, Snyder got Kurt Johnstad (whose his regular, go-to writer, including 300, that Last Photograph project that Bale’s attached to now originating from Snyder’s noggin and that 300 spin-off) to take over for rewrites. Jonah Nolan took a pass on it too.
Man of Steel is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2012.
