The Weinstein Company has announced that Quentin Tarantino’s Western Django Unchained for December 25, 2012.
It’s the only film opening on Christmas Day — thus far — but December 2012 is already incredibly crowded with “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” on December 14 and “Hunter Killer”, “Life of Pi” and “Lone Ranger” on December 21.
Django Unchained is also written by Tarantino and will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson. The main lead hasn’t been cast yet, although Idris Elba, Chris Tucker and Jamie Foxx have all been rumored for the part.
