Luke Evans has been cast as Bard in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. Meanwhile in other casting news, Benedict Cumberbatch, who is already in the project voicing the character Necromancer, will also voice voice and portray the dragon Smaug via motion capture.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is scheduled to hit theaters on December 14, 2012. The Hobbit: There and Back Again follows a year later on December 13, 2013.
