THR is reporting that David O. Russell may direct Disney’s live-action fantasy Maleficent. Tim Burton was recently attached to direct, but exited the project earlier this year. Angelina Jolie is still attached to star in the “Sleeping Beauty” story, from writer Linda Woolverton.
