Universal Pictures has signed Tom Cruise to star in Oblivion. The $100M project, originally set up at Disney, will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Tron: Legacy”) and is an adaptation of the Radical Publishing graphic novel. Karl Gajdusek is re-writing William Monahan’s script for the project.
Recently, Disney passed on it, but allowed Kosinski to shop it to another studio because they felt it wasn’t a fit with their studio. The project will be PG-13.
