Joss Whedon directed the after-credits scene in Thor

In an interview with Empire while at Cannes, Stellan Skarsgard (who played Erik Selvig in “Thor”) revealed that The Avengers director Joss Whedon actually directed the after-credits scene in Thor:

Skarsgard: “That was just a couple of months ago…I flew over there and went down into a basement, talked to Sam[uel L. Jackson] a couple of minutes and then went back home.”

Empire: “Was that with Ken Branagh?”

Skarsgard: “No that was with a director called Joss Whedon, who’s doing The Avengers.”

Skarsgard also confirmed that he’ll soon begin shooting on The Avengers, but he wouldn’t reveal any further details about what happens with his character (we know Erik is possessed by Loki in the after-credits scene).

Thor is currently in theaters. The Avengers releases on May 4, 2012.
