The CW renews Nikita and One Tree Hill; Hellcats canceled

The CW has renewed Nikita for a second season and One Tree Hill for a ninth season. The renewal for One Tree Hill is for 13 episodes (and will premiere at midseason). Although nothing has been made official, it will likely be the show’s final season. James Lafferty remains the final series regular yet to sign for the new season, but he’s expected to come back in some capacity, perhaps as a guest star.

Hellcats meanwhile, has been canceled. The freshman series started off okay, but tappered off in the ratings by the end of the season.
