  • 8:00 p.m.: The third season finale of 90210 (1.0/2 HH rating/share, 1.65M viewers, 0.8/2 A18-49 rating/share).

Analysis: It’s really quite shocking how low CW shows are rating. They really only have one hit now, and that’s The Vampire Diaries”. One Tree Hill averaged a dismal 1.2/2 HH rating/share, 1.76M viewers and a 0.9/2 A18-49 rating/share. On the other hand, this really is just the norm. Season two of 90210 averaged a 1.3/2 HH rating/share, 1.87M viewers and a 0.9/3 A18-49 rating/share. So this season was actually down just 8% in HH rating and 6% in viewers, while finishing flat in A18-49 rating.

Notes: Network average numbers from the week prior are based on preliminary data. Comparisons from the week prior (or episode-to-episode, etc.) on specific shows are based on final national data. Ratings for the current day are based on preliminary data. (Expect all three scenarios to be the case at all times, unless otherwise noted). The final numbers for first-run episodes that aired this evening will be reported the following week. So for example, the final numbers for tonight’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars” will be reported in next weeks report for Monday, May 23, 2011. Also keep in mind that because these are preliminary numbers, when the finals are released there may be noticeable changes.

And lastly, there may be some errors in the data due to rounding/human error. I’ll do my best to limit those mistakes and correct them in time for the next week’s report.

That’s wrong for The CW. It’s 90210 ratings not One Tree Hill.

My bad. Corrected now. Everything else in the post was correct, including year-to-year and finale data.

      Thanks for catching that.
