After 23 years on the air — its longest-running program — Fox has canceled America’s Most Wanted as a regular series. Fox says they’ll continue the show next season, but only as four quarterly two-hour specials [via Deadline]:
During a conference call this morning, Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said that “economically, it didn’t make sense” to continue the show, which had not made money for a while. Additionally, “for business reasons we want to have a place for repeats,” he said.
Fox also canceled Million Dollar Money Drop.
Meanwhile, the network’s new schedule confirms renewals for Cops and Kitchen Nightmares. Both shows will return this fall.
