Variety is reporting that Elizabeth Banks in in talks to play Effie Trinket in Gary Ross’ big screen adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel The Hunger Games:
Elizabeth Banks is in talks to star in “The Hunger Games” as Effie Trinket, a flaky bureaucrat who escorts her district’s young death-match contestants to their fate.
Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi have also reportedly joined the cast. They’ll play Rue and Thresh, respectively.
The Hunger Games is scheduled to hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
