A few days ago there was a report that Warner Brothers had offered Guy Ritchie (“Sherlock Holmes”) the “300” prequel, Xerxes. indieWIRE | The Playlist reports that Ritchie won’t be directing the project:
While Ritchie may have read the script and or may have thought about this for a moment. Warner Bros. tells us that the “Snatch” filmmaker is capital N, not directing “Xerxes.”
Zack Snyder, who was originally expected to direct, won’t be due to other commitments — notably the Superman prequel which is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2012.
