January Jones cast as Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class

Deadline New York is reporting that January Jones (“Mad Men”) has been cast as Emma Frost in director Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. Zoe Kravitz (Angel), Bill Milner (a young version of Magneto) and Morgan Lily (a young Raven–who becomes Mystique) have also been cast in the film.

Together they join Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Lucas Till (Havoc), Jason Flemyng (Nightcrawler’s dad) and Edi Gathegi (Darwin) as the mutant cast. Kevin Bacon is playing the villain in the film, while Rose Byrne was recently cast as McAvoy’s love interest Moira MacTaggert and Oliver Platt will play a character called The Man in Black.

Production on X-Men: First Class begins in London on August 23, 2010 with a theatrical release date set for June 3, 2011.
