Studios have made some adjustments to their release schedule with a few interesting highlights. First up, Disney-Pixar have moved up the release of Monsters, Inc. 2 to November 2, 2012 from November 16, 2012 while also pulling newt (originally scheduled for summer 2012) and Beauty and the Beast in 3D (originally scheduled for 2011) from their schedule entirely.
Just last week a New Zealand promotional trailer was released for Beauty and the Beast, so that may just be getting an earlier release. newt had been rumored as a cancellation for some time now. Disney also set a April 29, 2011 release date for Prom.
Other studios making moves include Paramount (DreamWorks) who pushed back the release of the Leonardo DiCaprio-voiced animated film The Guardians from November 2, 2012 to November 21, 2012, while Indican pushed back Ranchero from October 8, 2010 to January 14, 2011 and Fox Searchlight set a November 5, 2010 release date for Danny Boyle’s latest film, 127 Hours.
Rounding out the list were previously announced dates: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 (November 16, 2012) and Black Swan (December 1, 2010).
