The Wrap is reporting that Stephen Sommers will return to direct the sequel to the 2009 film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
Produced on a steep budget of $175 million, not including prints and advertising, the film was helped by a so-so worldwide cume of $302.14 million. Paramount hired Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick in January and the studio is reportedly happy with the first draft they’ve turned in.
