Inception tops box office for 3rd consecutive weekend; Dinner for Schmucks 2nd [UPDATED]

The Christopher Nolan-directed / Leonardo DiCaprio thriller Inception took first place at the box office for a third consecutive week, taking in$27.483 million from 3,545 theaters ($193.314M cume). The film will cross the $200M mark on Tuesday.

Dinner for Schmucks opened in 2nd place with $23.528 million, but the other new releases — Charlie St. Cloud — #5 — 12.382 million and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore — #6 — $12.279 million — each had disappointing debuts.

Salt fell one spot from last week to third place with $19.471 million ($71.034 million cume) and Despicable Me also lost one spot to fourth place with $15.524 million ($190.33M cume).
