The CW, on average, gets horrible ratings. There are exceptions, with shows like The Vampire Diaries and America’s Next Top Model attracting a respectable audience, but on the whole the network just doesn’t see much Ratings traffic.
At a TCA panel, network head Dawn Ostroff said the network doesn’t concentrate on ratings anymore, insisting their audience watches their programming through other means:
“Our viewers are the first to migrate to other platforms,” Ostroff said. “Every year that goes by, more and more are going to DVRs and streaming. There needs to be a way to measure them.
“The days of waking up and looking at the overnight ratings are over, especially for the younger demo,” she added.
