Speaking during his annual Comic-Con panel, Kevin Smith revealed that Michael Parks has been cast to star in his next film, the horror project Red State. Parks will play the role of Fred Phelps, founder of the Westboro Babtist Church. Here’s the plot synopsis as shown on IMDB:
A horror film in which a group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America.
Smith has previously stated that he expects to start shooting this summer with a release sometime next year.
