A Nightmare on Elm Street opened to a solid estimated $15.835 million and will easily carry the weekend due to minimal competition, including the poorly received Furry Vengeance, which opened to an estimated $1.7 million. Second place for the day belonged to How to Train Your Dragon which took in an estimated $2.523 million in its sixth Friday ($184.082M cume). Third went to Date Night with an estimated $2.465 million ($68.492M cume).
Rounding out the top five were The Back-Up Plan in fourth place with an estimated $2.43 million ($18.138M cume) and The Losers in fifth place with an estimated $1.925 million ($14.05M cume). Click over the jump for the daily chart.
