Paramount converting M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender to 3D

Paramount Pictures will convert M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender into 3D, Deadline reports. The studio will use Stereo D to work on the conversion, the same company that worked on James Cameron’s Avatar:

Shyamalan is pretty particular about his movies, so he must be sold on the conversion process. I still need to see more conversions to be sold on them.

The film’s July 2, 2010 release date will remain. The conversion is estimated to cost between $5 and $10 million, which should be very easy for the studio to recoup considering the $2-$3 increase in ticket price for 3D films.
