Scott Caan (“Entourage”, “Oceans Eleven”) has been cast as Danny “Danno” Williams in CBS’s pilot of Hawaii Five-O. Caan joins Daniel Dae Kim (“Lost”) who just last month was cast in the lead role as Detective Chin Ho Kelly.
Williams, who was played by James MacArthur on the original series, is a New Jersey cop who has recently undergone an acrimonious divorce and has transferred to Hawaii to be near his 7-year-old daughter. Forced to partner with McGarrett, Danno is initially leery of their association — but as he grows more familiar with his maverick new boss, he begins to appreciate the opportunity to work with McGarrett.
Caan will actually only appear as a guest star on the Hawii Five-O pilot because of his commitment to HBO’s Entourage where he has a regular role in the upcoming seventh season. However, should ‘Hawaii’ get a series pick-up by CBS, Caan will become a regular.
