HBO’s Rome could be headed to big screen

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a big screen sequel to the short-lived HBO series Rome is underway.  EW reports that Rome creator/executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) has just finished a script for Morning Light Productions (who financed the series and will likely produce the film).  The next step is for Morning Light to find a director and a studio for distribution (HBO Films will not be involved).

The film would pick up four years after the conclusion of the series and stars Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus) and Ray Stevenson (Titus Pullo) will likely sign on to reprise their roles.
