Universal Pictures has pushed back the release of the R-rated comedy Macgruber to May 21, 2010. The film was originally scheduled to be released on April 23rd which would have put it in direct competition with The Losers, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and The Back-Up Plan. The only other wide release currently slated for the May 21st weekend is DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek Forever After.
Meanwhile, Universal Pictures has also set a release date for Fast Five. The fifth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise will hit theaters on June 10, 2011. And finally, Warner Brothers has pushed up the release of Sex and the City 2 by one day to May 27, 2010.
