Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Friday Night Lights will end its run the fifth season. According to Ausiello, NBC has informed the show’s cast they are free to pursue other work when season 5 wraps in June. As previously reported, NBC jointly picked the show up for two seasons along with DirecTV.
The fourth season concludes tonight on DirecTV and will air on NBC this April 30th. Season five is expected to premiere on DirecTV this fall and then on NBC probably sometime in 2011.
