20th Century Fox is rebooting the 2003 Marvel Comics adaptation Daredevil. Peter Chernin is producing and the remake is being scripted by David Scarpa (The Day The Earth Stood Still).
Released in 2003 starring Ben Affleck in the leading role, the $78-million budgeted Daredevil grossed a modest $179.2 million worldwide. Fox’s decision to reboot the property isn’t all that surprising actually, given the studio has to continue to make Marvel movies which they own the rights to, because if they don’t the rights revert back to Disney-based Marvel.
