Cable TV Ratings: Caprica Slide Continues; Spartacus Up Again + more

Bad news for Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica.  Week three of the series drew just 1.13 million viewers and a 0.4 A18-49 rating.  That was down a steep 20% from last week’s episode (1.41M viewers and a 0.5 A18-49 rating).  Caprica is down 29% from its series premiere (1.60 million viewers).

Weekend Box Office (Feb. 5-7, 2010): Dear John ($30.5M) Beats Avatar ($22.85M); From Paris with Love ($8.2M) Disappoints

The romantic drama Dear John unexpectedly beat Avatar over the weekend, grossing an impressive $30.469 million to Avatar’s $22.851 million. Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim Joins CBS’s Hawaii Five-O Pilot

Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim has been cast in a lead role on CBS’s Hawaii Five-O remake.  Kim will play Detective Chin Ho Kelly, a role played by Kam Fong in the original series.

The part of Detective Steve McGarrett hasn’t been cast yet, but Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight) is in talks for it.

David Goyer Exits As FlashForward Showrunner

David Goyer is stepping down as showrunner of the struggling ABC drama series FlashForward.  ABC says Goyer will remain “involved” with the show.  He was the third showrunner after Marc Guggenheim (who left in October):

American Chopper Canceled

TLC has confirmed that they have canceled the motorcycle reality series American Chopper.  The final episode will air this Thursday, February 11th at 9:00 p.m.  TLC issued the following statement:
