Disney is moving forward with a sequel to the 2007 live-action fairy tale Enchanted. The studio has hired Jessie Nelson to pen the script and Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is attached to direct. The studio hopes to begin production soon for a release perhaps as early as next year.
The 2007 original– which starred Amy Adams, James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey and Susan Sarandon — was a hit worldwide grossing more than $340 million ($123 million of which came from domestic theaters). Disney will likely try to bring back the cast of the first film.
