Miss America 2010 Draws 4.5M Viewers; Best Performance for the Pageant in Cable

TLC’s telecast of the Miss America 2010 beauty pageant on Saturday night drew 4.5 million viewers, an improvement of 1 million viewers or 29% over last year’s telecast and a record showing for the beauty pageant on cable.

The show was also first for the night among all ad-supported cable networks — with the exception of movies — in several key demos including households, total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49, adults 18-34, women 25-54, women 18-49, women 18-34 and women 25-54.

Interestingly enough, this was the last year of a 3-year deal for the pageant on TLC so the network has a decision on their hands in regards to moving forward with the pageant.
